Copper Lord the 9-month-old upstart.
Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11:46 To summarize last D&D session with Ren, my Copper Dragon: find hide out, kill guards, hide like a coward from trapped door, get past door. So this week we traveled down a large "huge for game mechanics" tunnel to a equally large set of double doors. I sense something VERY big deep inside and let the group know. The bard casts Open/Close on the unlocked doors, and we charge in! I zip to the far side of the large snake thing wielding a massive scimitar and shield, my little chomp giving it 3 points of "ouch did a fly slap me" damage. The little halfling dubbed "Holder of Bags" (by Ren who has yet to learn his real name) shoots a bolt for a massive amount of damage. Next up is Levi who gives a nice FOOT TO THE HEAD to the creature. The creature swings madly on its turn, wishing it could get to the halfling, only to be slowed by my breath weapon for 5 rounds moments later. The bard starts to summon an eagle as Levi and Holder of Bags try to maximize damage on it. The snake takes a swing and a wiff as it reaizes how much slower it is a little to late.
I use aid another to lower it's AC for an attacker just as an Eagle pops into exsistance. It attacks for a modest rake as the Warforged Monk and Halfling rogue keep on a slapping and shooting. The bard starts to summon another eagle as the Snake cast Deeper Darkness as a last ditch effort to save it's hide. This causes the Bard to abort his summon spell. I keep working to lower it's AC while everyone else trys to hit it in the darkness I call out it's location to them so they have a better chance to hit. Long story short a dance in darkness leads to nickle and dimeing the creature to death as it saves and then fails two more breather weapons and a summoned scorpion kills it.
We find the girl we are after, quite dead, having been used as a sacrifice to some dark god. We find a size huge bag of holding and stuff the snake guy's corpse and the dead girl in it after removing the valuables. We get to town, get our rewards, and the group splits to take a month in game down time. During the time, Ren buys the plot of land the snake was on from the closest major city and gains a Cohort level 4 cleric and 4 followers. Level 1 Wizard, Cleric, Scripe, and Urban Ranger. She also buys for 6 months 20 workers among which is a master architect to build a Church / Orphanage to herself and takes in many of the homeless children in the city. She comes to find only her followers and the local nobles call her by her full name and everyone else just calls her Ren. She forgives them in her own head, after all they are such simple creatures bound to the ground and limited to such short lives, she will outlive their great grandchildren and this town will one day grow into a mighty empire that she will rule; it's only a matter of time. By now she is 10 months old and will hopfully have many more adventures.
